Research

Our department has become one of the top ranked groups in the nation based on National Institutes of Health research funding. There is a strong emphasis on human communication (speech and hearing), but there are also vigorous research programs in other areas including voice, rhinology, facial plastics, head and neck, sleep and dysphagia. In the area of clinical research our Cochlear Implant Center has been a pioneer and remains a leader in the study of outcomes of cochlear implantation and related interventions.
