Faculty Member Recieves Distinguished Clinician Award

William Shapiro, AuD, received the Distinguished Clinician Award from the New York State Speech-Language Hearing Association's (NYSSLHA) 2008 Honors and Awards Committee at its annual convention. The Distinguished Clinician Award is presented to NYSSLHA members who have demonstrated outstanding and innovative clinical care to communicatively impaired individuals on a continuing basis. Dr. Shapiro was recognized for his work in the area of cochlear and auditory brainstem implants (ABI).

"William Shapiro is a pioneer in the field of ABI. His ongoing dedication, understanding and compassion for his patients has certainly helped to set a standard within the professional community," said Salvatore Gruttaduaria, NYSSLHA President.
