W. Matthew White, MD
Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology

The Department of Otolaryngology is pleased to announce the addition of W. Matthew White, MD, Assistant Professor, to the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. White is a graduate of Medical College of Ohio and trained in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary of Harvard Medical School. While at Harvard, Dr. White also completed a clinical research fellowship in Laser Medicine and Surgery at the Wellman Laboratories of Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery here at NYULMC.  Dr. White has made extensive contributions to the medical literature, including original articles, books chapters and patents.

Dr. White sees patients at NYULMC in the Skirball Tower. He specializes in both the cosmetic and reconstructive surgical treatment of the face and neck, including: skin cancer reconstruction, rhinoplasty, aging face surgery, facial trauma, scar revision, facial nerve disorders; and he has a particular expertise in the use of fillers and botox for the non-surgical treatment of the aging face. Dr. White will also continue his research on laser medicine.

Maria Suurna, M.D.
Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology

The Department of Otolaryngology is proud to announce the addition of Maria Suurna, MD, Assistant Professor, to the Division of General Otolaryngology and Sleep Surgery.

Dr. Suurna is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Cincinnati. She has published numerous articles and textbook chapters in the field of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Suurna sees patients at NYU Trinity Center and Columbus Medical Center and performs surgeries at Tisch Hospital. She specializes in all areas of ear, nose and throat including diseases of nose and sinuses, sleep disorders, ear and hearing loss, parathyroid and thyroid diseases, as well as voice and swallowing disorders.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Suurna is actively involved in teaching Otolaryngology residents and medical students at NYU Langone Medical Center. She is a member of the American Board of Otolaryngology, the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, the American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological Society, and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
